Clapham Junction Station - SWT
In the box of St John's Hill, Plough Road, Grant Road and Falcon Road, this is one of the major junctions in the whole of the British national rail network. The services that are routed through here include: most of the South West train services into and out of Waterloo; those by Comex South Central and South East trains between Victoria and Gatwick, Brighton, Littlehampton and Bognor Regis and from Gatwick to Watford Junction; and Silverlink Metro services to Willesden Junction. The first line through here was that of the London and Southampton Railway which terminated to the north at Nine Elms Station (now replaced by the New Covent Garden Market), until an extension was complete to Waterloo in 1848, and before which it had reached Southampton in 1840.
