Here is a selection consisting largely of museums and public parks. The museums range from great to small and their subjects from gardening to royal carriages via nursing and the army. The parks in this area exist mainly through the efforts of Victorian radicals to provide facilities where the lower classes could enjoy wholesome activities. These are not the better known London parks deriving from the conversion of royal privileges. Those radical efforts still give considerable pleasure to both residents and visitors.
