The Imperial War Museum's collections illustrate all aspects of warfare in the 20th century where British and Commonwealth forces have been engaged. Strong collections of First and Second World War records are complemented by substantial holdings of post-1945 material. All archives also cover aspects of social history and technological change up to the present day. The art collection comprises paintings, prints, drawings, posters, art medals and printed ephemera from both World Wars, including artists commissioned by the War Artists Advisory Committee.
