Teddington Lock
This lock is immediately above the boundary of the jurisdiction of the Port of London Authority. It also effects the ending of any tidal flow of the river which prior to the building of any locks affected the river up to Staines. Teddington lock is a complex of three locks. One is a little used 'skiff' lock by which there is also a set of boat rollers. The lock generally used by private craft and medium sized passenger craft is the 'launch' lock which was rebuilt in 1858. It is 54.22 m. long x 7.41 m. wide by 2.79 m. draught. The third lock is the 'barge' lock which was opened in 1904. Its dimensions are 198.12 m. X 7.54 m. x 2.61 m. The maximum rise or fall (at minimum low water spring tides) is 2.68 m.
