This bridge spans the river between the end of Ferry Lane in Teddington and the towpath on the Ham bank crossing Lock island. The water, fed by the weirs upstream of the bridge, is tidal on the Teddington side of the island but not tidal on the Ham side because the locks are downstream of the bridge.
