1940 Bomb destroyed St Margaret's House
This was the 3rd house, built 1852 by the Earl of Kilmorey (costing £16,920), which he decided he couldn't afford to live in. It was the final great house in the estate which had been enclosed in 1227 as Twickenham Park by Richard, Earl of Cornwall, following the gift to him of this and adjacent manors by his brother Henry III.
