Thomas Percy, who was the cousin of the 9th Earl of Northumberland and the Duke's agent for his northern estates, dined at Syon on this evening. Whilst doing so a visitor called to speak with him and he had to excuse himself from the Duke's table to go with the man to London. The visitor was Guy Fawkes and Thomas Percy was one of those shot the next day when the plotters were discovered beneath the Commons in Westminster.
