Tennyson, Lord Alfred (Poet Laureate) - Residence
Tennyson (1809-1892) lived in Chapel House, 15 Montpelier Row, Twickenham from 03/1851 - 11/1853. Montpelier Row is a charming, elegant Georgian terrace. It was a speculative development by Captain John Gray in the early 1720's. Initially the houses tended to be the homes of aristocracy whereas his other local development, Sion Road, tended to be the homes of prosperous locals.
