King Louis Philipe - Family's Residence
As Duc d'Orleans he lived in Twickenham twice. He took up residence here at Orleans House when Napoleon escaped from Elba in 1815. The Duc returned to France in 1817.

King Louis Philipe - Family's Residence
One of the connections between Twickenham and French royalty, the Duc d'Aumale a brother the French King Louis Philipe lived here in Orleans House, of which only fragments remain, from 1854-63 with 2 brothers and 2 nephews close by. He was president of the Twickenham Rowing Club when that was formed in 1860.
