These four cottages were built, with contributions from parish funds, in 1721-4. As firmly inscribed into the stone built into the end wall, presumably when they were built: 'Two were built by Thomas Child, one by 'William Abbott, Carpenter, at his own charge, for ye use of ye poor of Chiswick for ever.'
