Queen Charlotte's Cottage, Kew Gardens
It is likely that this cottage was built to Queen Charlotte's own design in 1772. It is close to where her husband's grandparents had lived in Richmond Lodge which had been razed. This was the scene of the cosy royal life of the 1770's for George III, 'Mrs Queen' and their multitude of offspring - before the boys were up and away to meet their doxies and incur their debts.
